SpaceX — Organization. positioning: Aerospace group that absorbed xAI in February 2026, seeking AI revenue and credibility ahead of an IPO · sector: Space / satellites / AI
In February 2026, «Elon Musk» folded «xAI» into «SpaceX», moving the group's driving story away from launches and «Starlink» toward AI revenue. The listing behind that move is a Nasdaq offering under the ticker SPCX at roughly $135 a share, with a targeted valuation on the order of 1.75 to 1.8 trillion dollars.
The deal announced on 21 April 2026 gives «SpaceX» the right to acquire «Cursor» for 60 billion dollars during the year, or to pay 10 billion for a continuing compute and collaboration partnership. It puts Anysphere's editor and its Composer models on the Colossus cluster in Memphis, which «SpaceX» describes as equivalent to a million H100 GPUs. Mitch Ashley of The Futurum Group reads the floor-plus-option structure as a more honest split of risk than an outright acquisition, and points out the asymmetry driving it: Wall Street pays more for AI revenue than for aerospace revenue, while «xAI» reportedly lost 6.4 billion dollars in 2025.
Against that sits the delivery record. The New York Times coded more than 600 dated, quantified public commitments from Musk and found that about 19% arrived as promised. The rate is falling: close to three quarters met in 2015, fewer than half on time by 2020. Mars recurs roughly 19 times among the deferred targets, autonomy across more than 60. «SpaceX»'s own prospectus concedes that the schedule and feasibility of several major projects cannot currently be determined, for want of technologies that do not yet exist.
