Meta's manifesto "The Future is for Everyone" appeared on meta.com on August 10, 2026, roughly 6,500 words, signed simply "Mark". Mark Zuckerberg's argument is that alignment understood as convergence on a single benevolent system is "fundamentally mistaken", because "humanity is not a monoculture": safety becomes a question of how power is distributed rather than an engineering problem. The attached commitments are a fully private agent mode where "even Meta" cannot grant access, free versions for billions alongside a dynamic auction for paid compute, an independent board that approves release safety criteria, and a resumption of publishing some open source models. The text concedes that Meta remains controlled by its founder.

The company also turns up as a source of engineering telemetry. Brian Houck cites Meta figures: significant lines per human-merged diff up 106% in a year, diffs per developer per month up 51%, with more than 80% of that growth attributed to agentic AI. Meta's RADAR system automates a subset of low-to-medium-risk diffs and routes the remainder to humans.

On distribution, Meta announced in December 2025 the acquisition of Manus for more than $2 billion after the startup relocated from China to Singapore, with Xiao Hong joining as vice-president and the deal still under CFIUS review. The resulting agent, Muse, was blocked by Amazon as an unauthorized agent. Ryan Sarver's objection is narrower: Muse enables training on conversations by default, so the agent serves two principals at once.
